A Family Doctor's Guide to Medication Abortion
Join us for a live webinar with CAFP Past President Shannon Connolly, MD, FAAFP as she presents cases to help participants understand the full process from identification of pregnancy through completion of abortion. In addition, she will touch on information about telehealth abortion care since that is a fairly new way for people to access abortion services.

Shannon Connolly, MD, FAAFP
Shannon Connolly, MD, FAAFP, is the immediate past President of the California Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP). Dr. Connolly is Associate Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties, and Director of Primary Care at Melody Health, where she also sees patients. As CAFP president, she focused on setting the Academy’s health policy priorities; addressing racism and health inequity; and helping to raise awareness of the important work of family physicians.
Dr. Connolly received a B.A. in Biomedical Ethics from Brown University and an M.D. from University of Southern California. She did her medical residency in Family Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles and completed a fellowship in Primary Care Psychiatry at the University of California Irvine. She has held numerous leadership positions at the American Academy of Family Physicians, including currently serving as past Chair of the Subcommittee on Health Equity and as an inaugural member of the Commission on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Family Medicine. Her clinical interests include integrating sexual and reproductive health services into primary care settings and expanding provision of medication abortion.
