We Can Do Better: Improving Care for Women Over 50
Family physicians are front line providers of care to women over age 50. This activity addresses the evidence behind our current best practice approach to hormone replacement therapy, sexual health and wellness and lifestyle issues and counseling.

Dr. Cheri Olson is a family physician in La Crosse, WI. She is Medical Director at Interstate Postgraduate Medical Association and Associate Professor at La Crosse‐Mayo Family Medicine Residency where she has nurtured over 150 family medicine residents into practicing family physicians. She recently retired from a full‐range family medicine practice including obstetrics, inpatient medicine, procedures, and research.
Dr. Olson has participated actively in leading and developing patient safety and quality improvement projects and education at Mayo Clinic and IPMA. She is active in developing and presenting KSA modules for family physicians and loves creative education. She is married to an allergist and has 3 children, all launched and is expecting her first grandchild. In retirement, she continues to work with IPMA and is the medical director of a local free clinic.

This Enduring Material activity, We Can Do Better: Improving Care for Women Over 50, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 0.50 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. AAFP certification begins November 23, 2020. Term of approval is for one year from this date.
AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.
Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
