ForwardFamily Medicine Update (Parts 1&2)
It is estimated that the doubling time of medical knowledge in 1950 was 50 years; in 1980, seven years; and in 2010, three-and-one-half years. It is now projected to be just 73 days. Family physicians are bombarded daily with medical information and need a way to identify information, evidence and data that will most impact their patients. This two-part Family Medicine Update provides learners with the latest information available on a few key topics of interest.

Hobart Lee, MD is a board-certified family physician and the Program Director of the Loma Linda University Health Education Consortium (LLUHEC) Family Medicine Residency Program in Loma Linda, CA. He went to medical school at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Lee completed his family medicine residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He was a chief resident there and completed an Academic Faculty Development Fellowship. He is the past president of the CAFP Riverside-San Bernardino Chapter.

The California Academy of Family Physicians' (CAFP) Committee on Continuing Professional Development is responsible for identification, management and resolution of conflict for any individual who may have the potential to influence content, who have served as faculty, or who may produce CME/CPD content for the CAFP. 1.00 AAFP PRESCRIBED
This Enduring Material activity, Family Medicine Update, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 1.00 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. AAFP certification begins November 23, 2020. Term of approval is for one year from this date.
AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.
Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
